Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) has achieved financial closure for its ambitious Bina Refinery Expansion cum Petrochemical Project. The project, supported by a ₹31,802 crore loan from a consortium led by State Bank of India, will expand capacity from 7.8 MMTPA to 11 MMTPA while adding a 1.2 MMTPA ethylene cracker unit.
“This project will transform Bina into a petrochemical hub, driving value addition beyond fuels,” BPCL’s Chairman said in a recent interaction.
In Kerala, BPCL signed a ₹25.12 crore agreement with the state government for a four-lane road to the Ambalamugal Industrial Hub, alongside an ₹11.34 crore amenity centre at the Cochin Cancer Research Centre. The projects reflect BPCL’s dual focus on infrastructure development and community engagement.
