Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) delivered a stellar Q1 FY26 performance with net profit up 29% year-on-year to ₹44.51 billion. Total disbursements surged 36% to ₹595.08 billion, with renewable energy lending rising 35%.
The state-run financier declared a ₹4.60 interim dividend and a ₹2.60 final dividend for shareholders. Analysts say REC has emerged as a key beneficiary of India’s renewable investment wave, with a growing loan book in solar, wind and hybrid projects.
“REC’s balance sheet resilience gives it the flexibility to back India’s 500 GW by 2030 target,” said a Mumbai-based power sector analyst.
