NTPC Green Energy Projects Commence Operations

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), the renewable subsidiary of NTPC, has begun commercial operations of two renewable energy projects on August 19, 2025, adding 600MW of solar and wind power in Rajasthan and Gujarat. This milestone strengthens NTPC’s green portfolio and showcases India’s renewable transition capacity.
“These plants reflect our ambition to ensure every megawatt of new capacity has a lower carbon footprint,” said an NTPC executive. Experts highlighted the projects’ use of bifacial solar modules and advanced turbines, calling them “world-class.”
With India facing renewable project delays, NTPC’s timely execution highlights its balance sheet strength and reliability compared with private peers.
