Artificial intelligence is reshaping renewable energy economics, with India joining global peers in deploying AI-backed forecasting, trading, and grid management tools.
“AI is emerging as the secret weapon to unlock higher penetration of renewables,” said Rahul Tongia, senior fellow at the Centre for Social and Economic Progress. “Forecasting accuracy is improving by over 30 per cent compared to traditional models.”
AI-powered systems allow developers and grid operators to predict fluctuations in solar and wind generation with real-time precision, reducing curtailments and stabilising revenues.
