NTPC Green Energy Limited commissioned 212.5 MW of solar at Khavda-I in Gujarat and 52.5 MW of wind capacity on August 20, pushing NTPC Group’s total installed and commercial capacity to 83.24 GW.

In parallel, NTPC raised its long-term capacity target from 130 GW to 149 GW by FY32, backed by a ₹7 trillion capex programme. “We are accelerating towards 500 GW of national non-fossil capacity,” said Gurdeep Singh, NTPC’s Chairman.

Brokerage ICICI Securities reaffirmed a buy rating with a target of ₹439, citing the company’s renewable build-out and integrated energy strategy. Analysts believe NTPC is well-positioned to balance its coal-heavy base with fast-growing renewables.

The Khavda project, one of India’s largest solar parks, is central to NTPC’s transition narrative and India’s decarbonisation roadmap.
